What is Dart Dorm?
Dart Dorm is Dartmouth College's premier, student-run mattress rental company. We provide premium memory foam mattresses and bed frames for on-campus rentals, ensuring students have a comfortable living experience.
How did Dart Dorm get started?
Dart Dorm was founded in 2015 by Dartmouth students who wanted to improve the sleep and furniture situation for their peers. Our company started with futons and has evolved to focus on premium mattress rentals.
Who is part of the Dart Dorm team?
The team consists of Dartmouth students from the classes of 2021 to 2027, including Alex Burke, Dean Anderson, Jake Brodsky, Jake Karlan, Jeff Li, Grant Shobar, Quinn Heyneman, Ryan Zhang, Steven Mendley, Cooper Higgins, Mihir Bagul, Jon Jafarnia, Eli Emery, Steven Ryu, and Garret Duo.

What are the specifications of the Full XL memory foam mattress?
The mattress is a 10-inch, 3-layer design featuring 2 inches of cooling arena foam, 2 inches of pressure-relieving memory foam, and 6 inches of support foam. It’s CertiPUR-US certified, ensuring it’s free from harmful chemicals.
How does the proprietary bed frame work?
Our proprietary bed frame is designed to convert a Twin XL frame into a Full XL, maximizing space and comfort in your dorm room. It’s durable and easy to assemble.
Is the mattress CertiPUR-US certified?
Yes, all foam used in our mattresses is CertiPUR-US certified, which means it’s made without harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, phthalates, and heavy metals.
Rental Process
How do I rent a mattress?
You can rent a mattress through our website by selecting your preferred rental term and completing the checkout process. We handle the rest.
What rental periods are available?
We offer flexible rental terms, including single-term, two-term, and full-year options. Rental periods are for the fall, winter, and spring terms.
How does delivery and setup work?
We start deliveries a week before the term begins and handle full setup directly in your dorm room.
Billing and Payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayPal and credit card. Credit card payments are processed through our payments provider, Stripe.
When will I be charged for my rental?
You are charged immediately at checkout for both PayPal and credit card payments.
Are there any additional fees?
There are no hidden fees. The rental price includes delivery, setup, and pickup at the end of the term.
Service and Support
What happens if I have an issue with my mattress?
If you encounter any issues with your mattress due to defects not caused by user damage, contact our support team, and we’ll address the problem promptly.
What happens if I damage the mattress?
Accidental damage is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Minor wear and tear is expected, but significant damage may incur a fee.
How do I schedule a pickup at the end of my term?
We’ll coordinate with you to schedule a convenient pickup time, with arrangements possible as early as two weeks before the term ends.
